What We Do

We setup, own and manage the project, i.e. BOO (Build-Own-Operate).

We sign a PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) with an electricity company or other off-taker.

We choose the best technology available and sign an EPC (Engineering Procurement Construction) agreement for a turnkey commissioning of the project.

We sign supply agreements with feedstock suppliers.

We choose a site in an area where feedstock is easily available and where electricity grid connection is nearby.

Executive Management
 Mr. Josh Shoham, Chairman, has extensive experience in senior executive management and in international business development in the USA, Europe and China. He held several General Manager positions, e.g. the General Manager of the Israeli subsidiary of International Paper (a Fortune 100 Company), and was co-founder of several high-tech startups (e.g. Infowrap Systems). Mr. Shoham was also a strategic market development consultant responsible for a range of transactions in the Israeli and Chinese traditional and high-tech industries, e.g. initiating a joint venture between Saifun Semiconductors and Infineon, which resulted in Infineon becoming an equity partner in Saifun and Saifun going public on NASDAQ. He has served for six years as a Board of Directors Member in Bio-Cell (TASE: BCEL), which reversed merged its activities into Protalix Biotherapeutics (AMEX: PLX; TASE: PLX). Mr. Shoham holds an MBA and a B.A. in Economics, both from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and an LL.B degree from the Faculty of Law of Tel-Aviv University.
 Mr. Shlomi Palas, CEO, is a clean-tech executive and entrepreneur with a large network in private and government sectors in North and South America, Europe, China and Africa. Prior to Blue Sphere, he was a business entrepreneur in the biodiesel industry, carrying out activities in China, Brazil and Africa. Earlier, as a Senior Partner at Mitzuv, a leading management consulting firm, Mr. Palas worked in China with the IFC (International Finance Corporation), a member of the World Bank Group, and with Israeli and Chinese companies. He has also held other senior executive positions, e.g. VP of Sales and Marketing at Office Depot, managing over 30,000 Israeli accounts, and President of Norix International, a NJ firm representing foreign companies interested in marketing their products in the USA. Mr. Palas holds a M.Sc. in Marketing from Baruch College - The City University of New York and a B.A. in Statistics and Management from Haifa University.
Mr. Roy Amitzur, Executive VP, is a world-renowned expert in the environmental market with vast experience in international project execution as well as a wide network of large system integrators, institutions and investors in the environmental market. Prior to Blue Sphere, he was the President of Clean Technologies Group, which specializing in investment in water technologies and water and waste-water project execution with offices in the USA, Australia, Spain, Turkey, Peru, Chile and South Africa, where it executed BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) and turnkey projects. Earlier, Mr. Amitzur was a Corporate VP at Comverse Technology (NASDAQ: CMVT), where he managed the Professional Services Division, the New Product Division and the Customer Support Division, and the CEO of Zina Investment, a private investment fund with around $80 million under management. Mr. Amitzur holds an MBA and a B.Sc. in Computer Science, both from the University of Maryland.
Mr. Mark Radom, Legal Council and Chief Carbon Project Developer, is an expert in the carbon and renewable energy sector. Prior to Blue Sphere, he was the CEO of Carbon Markets Global, a London-based company focusing on developing and trading carbon credits, and the Managing Director of Carbon MPV, a Cyprus-based carbon project developer. Earlier, as an attorney focusing on advising on U.S. securities laws and corporate transactions, Mr. Radom worked on Wall Street and in the City of London, where he represented sovereigns, global investment banks and Fortune 500 companies across a broad range of capital raising and corporate transactions. He was also a Senior Associate in the Corporate Department of Dewey Ballantine, managing all aspects of a diverse corporate and capital markets practice. Mr. Radom is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey and holds a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in New York and a B.A. in Russian from Duke University.
Mr. Nir Bareket, Project Finance, is an expert in international project financing. Prior to Blue Sphere, he was a Financial Advisor at Bluebird Financing & Projects, facilitating project financing for infrastructure projects in South East Asia, Africa and Russia. Earlier, Mr. Bareket was the General Manager of the Finance Group of Bateman, where he was directly responsible for obtaining project finance for multiple $100 to $200 million projects on a turnkey basis and/or BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) in Africa, Eastern Europe, Russia and the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) countries. He also served as a Vice President at the Merhav Group of Companies, where he was responsible for financial planning and financial structure development for large scale water and energy projects ($100 million to $1.1 billion). Mr. Bareket holds and MBA specializing in Accounting and Finances from Bryant College, Smithfield Rohde Island, and a B. A. in Political Science from Tel-Aviv University.
Mr. Shlomo Zakai, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer, is an expert in finances with many years of experience with U.S. public companies. He established his own accounting firm in 2004, providing a range of services to publicly traded companies as well as private companies, and he has served as controller and Chief Financial Officer of a number of private companies. Mr. Zakai serves as the internal auditor of several Israeli traded companies and oversees Sarbanes-Oxley compliance in several U.S. and Israelis traded companies. He has worked as an accountant for nine years in the hi-tech department of Kost, Forer, Gabbay & Kasierer, an independent registered public accounting firm and a member firm of Ernst & Young Global, where he last served as a senior manager and worked with companies publicly traded on NASDAQ and in Israel. Mr. Zakai is a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and holds a B.A. in Accounting from the College of Management in Rishom Le'Zion.
Mr. Ran Daniel, CFO – BINO Sphere, brings substantial experience to Blue Sphere's joint venture with BioGas Nord that ranges from serving as the Chief Financial Officer of startups (in the software and medical device fields) to the International Chief Financial Officer of Ness Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: NSTC), where he controlled global reporting and finance-related activities for international operations and played leading roles in planning and executing the company’s extensive cross-border M&A activities. Mr. Daniel is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and is licensed (Esq.) to practice law in New York. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
